July 15 Coup Attempt Demet Sezen

Demet Sezen

One of the police officers who were martyred in the Gölbaşı Special Operations Department bombed by FETÖ members, was 31-year-old Demet Sezen. Sezen went to do her job even though she was not called. She left her 3-year-old son with her colleague and husband Hakan Sezen. Demet, who was martyred by the second bomb that went off in the Department, was closely taking care of the martyrs’ families.

Sezen was on duty the night of the coup attempt. She left her job at 10:30 p.m. and came home with her husband and son. When the family arrived they learned about the coup attempt taking place by a group of traitors. Demet prepared quickly and left her house after saying to her husband, “You stay with the child, I’ll be in touch if anything happens.”
