Martyr Ferhat Kaya had been working in the Ankara Gölbaşı Special Operations Department Headquarters before he was martyred in the bomb attack by FETÖ traitors on July 15th.
He had been called in to work around 10:00 PM during the coup attempt. He asked his wife Ayşenur, to prepare his camouflages and close the doors and windows.
He was on his way when the first bomb was dropped on the Gölbaşı Special Operations Headquarters. Kaya was martyred by the second bomb attack, after he had made it to the headquarters.
Ferhat’s family searched all the hospitals to try and find 29 year old Ferhat Kaya. They eventually were able to find his body on July 17th. On July 18th, the funeral for him and 5 other of his friends was held in the Kocatepe Mosque. He was then buried in Ankara.
Kaya who had been working in the Special Operations Department for 5 years and Tunceli for 2 years. He was from Tokat and he had been married for 1 year. His wife Ayşenur, described her husband as follows, “Ferhat was indescribable. He was really mature. He had ideals, he wanted to leave his name behind. He always said, ‘We need to do something as we are here in this world, we shouldn’t leave empty.’”
The name Martyr Ferhat Kaya was given to an elementary school in Niksar in Tokat and one middle school in Fethiye in,Muğla.
