His coffin covered in the Turkish flag was brought to Diyarbakır Special Operations Branch Directorate after his family received the body. Halit was carried to the hearse on shoulders along with the chantings of, “God is the greatest.” Then he was taken to Dicle to be buried.

He provided for his siblings both financially and emotionally. He did everything he could to raise them.
12 year old Hüseyin, younger brother of the martyr, stated that he met with his brother during the Ramadan Holidays for the last time and added, “My father was a very good person. He always helped the poor. The last time I saw my brother was during the Ramadan Holiday. He visited us. He bought a gun for me when he came here. We were joking around. I missed him so much. The traitors would have attacked from the ground, if they had been real men. Why did they attack from above? No human would do that. No human would be as traitorous as they were.

The name Martyr Halit Gülser was given to a school in the Pekmezciler Village of the Dicle district of his hometown, Diyarbakır.
