July 15 Coup Attempt Hüseyin Kısa

Hüseyin Kısa

Hüseyin Kısa, who headed to the airport from Esenler where he lived, faced putschists when he came on to the highway on July 15th. Only 29 years old, he was crushed by the tanks controlled by putschist traitors.

On the 15th, he left his lathe workshop in Bayrampaşa with his brother. He found out about the FETÖ coup attempt from the TV after he came home. He then headed to the Esenler Police Headquarters. From there he was planning to head to the airport. That was when he faced putschists’ tanks on the highway.
His brother Bekir Kısa, searched all of the hospitals around to find his brother. The Kısa family went to the Bağcılar State Hospital after the Morning Prayer only to find out about an unidentified body. They saw his body when they visited the morgue for identification.

“Cover my body with a Turkish flag”

Hüseyin gave a Turkish flag to his wife a short time before he was martyred. He asked to be covered with the Turkish flag when he died.

Hüseyin was buried in his hometown Tokat. The name Martyr Hüseyin Kısa was given to a middle school in Zile, Tokat.

The putschist soldiers did not hesitate to run over people who threw themselves in front of the tanks as they crushed cars on the road and opened fire in order to advance. Those moments were captured on citizens’ cameras.
