Lokman Biçinci was dealing with the burial procedures of his sister, who died one day before July 15th, when he heard about the coup attempt. He went to Akıncı 4th Main Jet Base Command with his brother. He was martyred by a helicopter which was shooting at people. He was buried in the Kazan Martyrs Cemetery on Monday after his sister who was buried in Erzurum on Friday.

Lokman and his brother Gökhan, were devastated by their sister’s death. They heard about the traitorous coup attempt as they were waiting for their sister’s body which was to be taken to Ankara from Erzurum. His sister was buried in Erzurum as it was not possible to bring her to Ankara due to the coup attempt by FETÖ.

“I can sacrifice my children to my country”

They went outside to fight for their country upon the announcement made by the Kazan Municipality on the night of the July 15th coup attempt. The brothers wanted to stop the F-16s that took off from the 4th Main Jet Base in Kazan to shoot the Parliament Building, government offices, and the civilians. After intense fights, Lokman was martyred by a helicopter. His sister was buried in Erzurum as it was not possible to bring her to Ankara due to the coup attempt by FETÖ.

Thousands of people attended Lokman’s funeral in the Kazan Grand Mosque. 65 year old Recep Biçinci, Lokman’s father, said, “I have 5 more children. I can sacrifice them all for my country.”

Martyr Lokman Biçinci was buried in Kahramankazan Martyrs’ Cemetery.

He was saving money for the wedding

Lokman was born in the Narman district of Erzurum as the middle child among his 11 siblings. He had migrated to Kazan for financial reasons. He was working for a minimum wage in a glass factory and was saving money for his wedding and to buy a car.

Putschist soldiers shot at anyone who tried resisting them at the Mürted Air Base in Kazan after they found out that the base was used as the command center for the coup attempt. 7 people died and 59 people were wounded in the conflict.

The Akıncı Base in Kazan was used as the headquarters of the coup attempt for taking hostages and for the bombings. Upon learning this, the citizens surrounded the Akıncı Base and set fire to hay bales and narrowed the sight of the warplanes. They also gathered in front of the base and resisted the putschists. The putschists at the base shot at the crowd as it grew even bigger. Five people were martyred and 40 were wounded.
