The Mavi Marmara case is withdrawal; never give up

The Mavi Marmara case dropped. It had actually dropped when Turkey and Israel reached an agreement. Hence, the prosecutor referred to this too. Based on the agreement that was made, Turkey is withdrawing the cases it filed. It seems that the Mavi Marmara case turned into an interstate case and hence, conclusions are reached based on the meetings and agreements between the states. In this case, the attitudes of the Israeli state, the Turkish state and government were determining factors. However, those who were organized around the İHH, involved in the incident, those who were martyred and families are also included in this case. The Mavi Marmara initiative was a civil society initiative before anything else. As a result, there are families, individuals and civil society participants are not satisfied with the outcome. As a matter of fact, an argument emerged between the Justice and Development Party (AK Party) government and the nongovernmental organization, İHH. Perhaps, there are those who want to further ignite this.

Mavi Marmara actually gives us new thinking opportunities regarding civil society, state, politics and political party relations. We need to draw attention to certain points on the cooperation and distances between these structures. However, it is difficult to say that right now is a good time to do this. Because Turkey is making a system change under the leadership of conservative politics. This is the primary matter of urgency that has importance here. Currently, all conservative circles are obliged to become mobilized in this regard. Because it is of vital importance both for Turkey's future and theirs.
