Europe will be divided, Turkey will grow even bigger. This is how history will reverse

Catalonia’s declaration of independence not only divided Spain, it also activated Europe’s ethnic fault lines. It is no longer possible for anybody, any force to stop the dissolution in Europe, the disintegration, as a matter of fact, the division of countries, one after another. Europe’s 20th century ended only recently, the order established after World War II fell apart, political calculations have reset, old maps have been taken off the shelves, a new political history that will be determined by ethnic disintegration has started.

From now on, all the statelets, ethnic issues, historical disputes, feudality in European history from southern Europe to the far most north; they will all surface, reviving memories, with historical claims reawakening and coming to the table.

Not just the EU, many countries in Europe will split

Europe, which sacrificed all the values and organizations it produced and institutionalized after World War II to terrorism and security policies within a matter of a few years, which has exhausted all it could say to the world, has withdrawn and turned to its own internal fight. Until now, it was able to hide its internal problems through these values, top institutes and discourses, but now that veil has been lifted and, as a result, the geopolitical collapse period is blatantly obvious. As of this stage, European Union discussions are meaningless. There will no longer be such a union. North, south, east and central Europe are going to separate; smaller regional rapprochements are going to be tested within the union in an attempt to prevent the collapse in this way, but the shaking changes in the power map are not going to allow even this.

“Joint Europe” dreams are now history. The “21st Century Rome” project spanning the Baltics and the Syrian border is now over. This will cause the discussions on territorial integrity of individual countries to escalate. The degree the countries have weakened in terms of ensuring even their own integrity – let alone keeping the EU standing – will become impossible to hide.

Those imposing ethnic conflict on us got hunted in their own homes

The signals of a new period of political chaos, a period of chaotic turmoil for all of Europe, not only Spain, are visible. In turn, all autonomous structures, all communities dreaming of an ethnic disintegration, will follow the example of Catalonia.

Corsica and Scotland’s unofficial recognition of Catalonia’s independence has determined the line of conflict breaking out against all EU countries. This line will become thicker, the front will expand further and, a while later, it will not be the autonomous regions but certain countries in the EU supporting disintegration theories against one another. This will usher in conflicts bigger than ethnic disintegration.

Many European countries from France to Spain, Belgium to the U.K. will now have to use all their energy to ending dreams of ethnic separation. Their opposing Catalonia’s independence all together is actually the indication of  fear.

Those who exported the micro nationalism, ethnic conflict, city states project on our region have been hunted in their own homes.

Europe’s suicide: Fascism will destroy them

Europe’s suicide is not Catalonia but the rise of the far-right, the rise of fascism. Europe, which could not fight against global-scale shifts, which has failed to produce a new discourse and power, which has become old, made a grave mistake and adopted fascism as a new method of accumulating power.

This dangerous wave, particularly in Germany and its circle of influence, will be a lot more destructive than Catalonia’s independence; although it may provide power to certain countries in the short term, in the long term, it will be the biggest reason behind Europe’s division.

European tutelage is over for Turkey, let them deal with each other

The EU issue is over for Turkey as well. While the EU is incapable of protecting even its own existence, it has nothing left to give to Turkey. From now on, Turkey-Europe relations will be on the basis of individual countries and be redesigned in accordance with bilateral relations. Friendships, partnerships or enmities will take shape according to this new situation.

Within the scope of this reality, neither the EU nor European countries will be dreaming of establishing tutelage through Turkey. Their last intervention was the Gezi terror, support for the Dec. 17 and Dec. 25 intervention, and the July 15 attack. Being concerned with their own internal divisions and conflicts, they will no longer even have the chance to export their crises to our countries.

No European country will have the option or luxury of applying pressure on Turkey, making impositions or continue the crisis with Turkey for a long period. It will help to consider the course of the crisis between Turkey and Germany in accordance with this as well. Because Germany, which will face very serious problems within Europe, is going to have to ease the crisis with Turkey.

The ‘Turkey is growing’ fights and claims will further escalate

It should not be thought that Turkey is the only country in the world with problems, that the entire world’s issues are focused on Iraq and Syria. As Turkey grows, so do its fights; the difficulty of the attacks it faces are also increasing. This is the sign of strengthening and growth; it is the result of being a center country. If you have a claim, you are strong, if you have a claim, you are in the big fights.

Let these be presented as Turkey’s mistakes alone; those who look at the problems within Europe, the rise and defiance in China, the great showdown continuing in many corners of the earth between the U.S. and Asian countries will see the truth. There is no more international system. There is a fight for power and influence now. In this period, you are as strong as to where you can extend your hand to.

Our crises are foreign intervention, theirs are their own internal problems

The 2008 global economic crisis was actually a geopolitical crisis. The U.S. and particularly Europe tried to export their crises to our region in efforts to hide their own. They turned all identities into conflict and created a major pillage in our region. The portrayed Muslims as the biggest problem of the world.

Yet, all the disintegrations, internal conflicts and separation were all projects imposed from the outside. They were each an attack, an intervention, a product of invasion. They were the sort that would end as soon as the intervention ended.

However, the division and disintegration within Europe are all caused from within Europe. They are not imposed and supported from the outside. They emerge exclusively as part of European political history. This is what is dangerous. The moment the foreign intervention on our region ends, disintegration and the conflicts will also end. But this will not end in Europe.

New ‘feudality’ period and the ‘European Civil War’

I suggest you start discussing from now not only the EU’s collapse, but also Europe’s division, destruction, as a matter of fact, the ”European Civil War.” A region that started two world wars is returning to the political atmosphere that started the two world wars.

It is returning to the feudality era.

We are going to grow, overcome these pains and unite while they regress and further disintegrate. As we enter a rising period, they have entered a period of regress.

This is how history changes.
