The end of rhetoric, start of a powerful Turkey

Drama on Turkmen Mountain

Russian warplanes are bombing them from above. Thousands of civilians are trying to stay alive by hiding between trees, in tents, in mountains. A handful of Turkmens are wailing, while trying to resist against Iranian soldiers, the Syrian army and furious militias. Turkey is trying to stop this attack from turning into genocide by warning the United Nations, U.S., and Europe, but it is useless. But, no one even cares.

Political executions in Bangladesh

Important scholars, politicians and leaders of the Jamaat-e-Islami of Bangladesh are in agony in prisons. The government has now started to execute these people, as if this poor country hasn't already been suffering enough. The leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami and the Bangladesh Nationalist Party were taken to the gallows at midnight a few days ago. People were crying out, objecting and protesting everywhere. Turkey stepped in, made diplomatic contacts and tried to influence, yet couldn't save those people from being executed.

Pressuring Muslims in Europe

Europe has been engrossed in a deep paranoia and Muslim hostility after the Paris attacks. Every Muslim is seen as a potential threat, and thus is treated as a criminal. New laws, new rules and new practices have started to make life miserable for Muslims. Europe is determined to blockade Muslims. Refugees are being kept at Serbian, Austrian, Greek and Italian borders, in the cold and rainy weather. They are all being treated as if they had an involvement in the Paris attacks. Turkey is trying to explain that problems, in days where Islamaphobia is on a rise, cannot be solved in this particular way. Yet, no one seems to be listening.

Executing refugees in the Mediterranean

Greek soldiers are popping rubber boats full of refugees in the middle of the sea, with the world watching, and are leaving these people to die. Refugees are literally being executed in the middle of the Mediterranean, with humanity being exhausted and cries reaching the skies. While the lifeless bodies of children wash ashore, France has supposedly found the solution by bombing civilians in Raqqa, claiming to bomb the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). Obama settled to tell Russia, “It would be better if you bombed ISIL." The U.N. is incapable and ineffective. The Arab League is discussing writing letters of condemnation. Leaders of the G20 are saying, “ISIL has no aircraft, so why should we establish a no-fly zone?"

There is nothing more to say, we are at the end of rhetoric

In the end, it is us Muslims, the people of this region, who are being oppressed and grieved. Whatever we do or say doesn't help. Everyday we called out to the West's inner conscience, asked for their justice and asked to cooperate; civilians, children and the innocent were bombed in the Middle East.

There is nothing more to say, words have failed, and we are at the end of rhetoric. No longer does it make sense to shout slogans, swear at the West, claim an outlaw or call out the conscience.

Let's acknowledge the bitter facts

This mighty nation has a conscience that feels the pain of all those oppressed in the world. Yet, the world doesn't hear the voice of the inner conscience.

This mighty country has a heart that embraces all the oppressed, yet, the world doesn't care about the heart.

This mighty country objects the injustice, unfair and exploiting order of the world, yet, no one hears our cries.

The West never takes the conscience, morals or justice into consideration. The world cares about power. Power is the best way to compromise and cooperate. The stronger you are, the more right you are. The weaker you are, the guiltier you are.

Are you a powerful country?

Do you have enough economic power to affect the whole world? Do you have an army, a defense industry, domestic weapons that can shy away the world?

Do you have a media, a communication power, which can set the world on fire?

Do you have intellectuals, scientists, authors, artists who can speak and make the world listen to them?

No.

If you don't have all the above, rhetoric can only help to a certain extent. And now, we are at the end of the rhetoric.

The idea of a “powerful Turkey" is now in the minds and hearts of this nation. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu's statements on a “powerful Turkey," have now started to come into effect. The rhetoric has done its job.

Now it is time to take action. The new government's, the new Cabinet's job is to figure out how to put this rhetoric to life. In this period we need to talk less and do more. This is the only way we can get out of the circle of fire. We are at the end of rhetoric, and at the beginning of a powerful Turkey. We all need to be in line with this.
