From Ankara to Washington: Either you are going or Gülen is!

A junta attempt is going to take place in one of NATO's most strategic countries and in fact a plan is going to be set up in your country and be planned by someone residing in your country, and the U.S. is going to be unaware of it!

Especially since the EU, Brexit, Ukraine, most recent NATO summit decisions, Baltics, Russia, Black Sea, Daesh, Syria, et cetera…, the unending list of “U.S. interests” are under threat.

'Broken arrow'

The savage attempt was designed not to establish a new rule in Ankara, but to ruin it. The likelihood of a coup being successful or establishing a ruling power and continuing it aside, the “likelihood of a coup” in Turkey was 2.5 percent. (“Turkey was an unlikely victim of an equally unlikely coup,” 16/07, NYT.)

In other words, that attempt was so bogus and forced…

Then? There must be a reason and message.

Every attack by the Gülenist Terror Organization (FETÖ) on Turkey took place with a U.S. interest going under threat. The Dec. 17 and Dec. 25 attempts were the same as is the Oslo process that is going to wipe out the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) terrorist organization, the Democratic Union Party) that would develop in Syria and the so-called “Kurdistan.”

“Broken Arrow” is a U.S. military term. If during a war a U.S. troop is about to fall, this emergency code is used as the last resort: Broken arrow!

In this case, whether convenient or not, all U.S. air forces in the region try to help that troop.

July 15 is a political “broken arrow!”

Vladimir Putin: I am with Erdoğan!

Fifteen days before the coup…

“Our President Mr. [Recep Tayyip] Erdoğan had a telephone conversation with Russian Federation State President Vladimir Putin today. They stressed the importance of the normalization of relations between Turkey and Russia. The two leaders agreed to also meet face-to-face.” (The official presidential website, 29/06).

On the same day…

“The chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Council of Federation of the Russian Federation, Konstantin Kosachev stated: 'The terrorist attack on Atatürk Airport is the response to Turkey's efforts to improve ties with Russia and Israel.'” (“Terör saldırısı Türkiye'nin Rusya ve İsrail ile ilişkilerine yönelik” (Terror attack targeting Turkey's relations with Russia and Israel), 29/06, DHA.)

Two days later…

The American Washington Post newspaper claimed that U.S. President Barack Obama proposed a new agreement to Russia for military cooperation in Syria. (01/07, BBC.)

Why this urgent carrot-stick attack?

“Meaningful timings” aside, the hours had messages on July 15-16. U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry was in Moscow. He was accepted by Putin. As if the decision to deploy troops in Warsaw, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Poland was not taken only a few days ago (“NATO, Doğu Avrupa'yı korumayı seçti” (NATO chose to protect East Europe), 10/07, Yeni Şafak), it proposed a cooperation to Russia in all potential fields including Ukraine and Syria. All over again! (“ABD Dışişleri Bakanı Kerry, Rusya'da” (US Secretary of State Kerry in Russia), 15/07, Vatan.)

And July 15…

“Russia's Special Presidential Representative Dugin: 'FETÖ and U.S. common enemy.'” (Yeni Şafak)

'We took the measures necessary to fulfill our obligations toward UN and NATO'

The coupists had this “fossilized” statement read on television at gunpoint, but they could not take it!

Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım: “Some of our friends had trouble understanding our sensitivity on this issue, but their failure to understand cost us a lot. After what happened last night, I cannot see any country that would back this man [Fethullah Gülen]. Any country that will support him is not Turkey's friend – they are in a serious war against Turkey.” (16/07, Sabah.)

July 17… “In the meeting that took place with Russia's initiative, State President Putin told President Erdoğan that they are on the side of the elected government and wished the president, his family and the Turkish nation that everything will be better soon.” (“Erdoğan ile Putin görüştü” (Erdoğan meets Putin), AA.)

Of course this message is important in comparison to the messages of “we support democracy” by the U.S. including almost all Western countries, which can be interpreted as “let's wait for the result” and was given almost as if by dragging their feet, but…

The real story is in what follows: “During the meeting, the two leaders agreed to meet face-to-face in the first week of August.” Previously, Russia had delayed the date.

New secret to Turkey-Russia relations

Why is this important? Face-to-face meeting? This is the new secret to Turkey-Russia relations.

Both sides are doing all they can to go back to the old days. That is why tourism- and economy-based steps are being taken fast.

However, Russia does not want the old form of relationship. It wants a strategic relationship, not tactical. It is clear that as soon as strategic is mentioned this is going to activate the West and Westernists. That is not what they mean. A one-word formula has been found which they utter openly: “Independent.” Because Ankara is trying to become independent in every field.

It can be summarized as: “We are aware of the set relations with the U.S.-U.N.-NATO. But when you lean on these while building ties with Russia, they poison the environment of trust. When the U.S. establishes a new organization in Syria and “your south border,” both our national security melts in the “entire region.”

Moscow got the response it was waiting for: “Turkey is now more independent.”

And it confirmed this too: “The coup attempt is U.S. patented.”

'Elimination!'

Labor Minister Süleyman Soylu: “The U.S. is behind the coup attempt carried out by FETÖ members!”

U.S. Secretary of State Kerry: “These statements will harm Turkey-U.S. ties.”

Soylu: “What was going to happen to our ties if a coup had happened? Did Kerry not say during the first shouts of the coup attempt, 'I hope peace will be made as soon as possible'?”

Turkish-Russian reconciliation came at a terrible time for the U.S.! It contains a potential that can produce strategic losses for them.

Is Gülen still a strategic value for the U.S.?
