Roketsan, one of the largest rocket and missile producers and defense contractors in Turkey, signed a deal with Airbus Helicopters, the helicopter manufacturing division of Airbus Group.

According to the agreement, Roketsan's laser guided Cirit missiles will be integrated with Airbus Helicopters' H135 and H145 rotocopters.

Roketsan is best known for its vast range of unguided rockets as well as laser and infrared guided missiles such as Cirit and UMTAS.

The Cirit has a maximum effective guided range of 8 km with a high probability of hitting a 3×3 m target at this range.

The Cirit missile project was launched to equip Turkish Army's T-129 Atak, AH-1P Cobra and AH-1W Super Cobra attack helicopters with low-cost precision strike capabilities.

After successful operations, the project has started to attract foreign clients as the Eurocopter selected the missiles to equip the EC635 helicopters.

Under the terms of the agreement, following the integration of the 70 mm laser-guided Cirit rocket systems with Airbus helicopters, test operations will be held in Turkey.
