Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said on Friday the G20 member countries should take a strategic approach to energy issues.

A large proportion of global infrastructure investment needs are provided by the energy sector, said Erdoğan during his speech to G20 Energy Ministers' Meeting in Istanbul, and added “We should deal with global energy issues in a multidimensional approach."

Erdoğan said the key issues of G20 are strong, sustainable, balanced and inclusive global economy growth.

“We, as the president of the G20 countries, have gathered our priority under 3 headings; implementation, investments and inclusiveness," the Turkish president said.

Erdoğan underlined the most effective way to ensure economic growth, both in national and global levels, is through establishing trust and sustainability.

“The continuous reduction of renewable energy costs and the integration of technology with the energy system are important regarding our future," Erdoğan said.

“The main goals are to take measures to prevent an atmosphere that can cause an economic crisis and give a corporate structure to the global economic cooperation system," he explained.

“I believe that we should address the global energy issues with a multi-dimensional level, and the floor is ready for G20 countries to develop cooperation in this area," PM Erdoğan added.
