Russian Energy Week forum will conduct a comprehensive analysis of the current global energy market and offer effective solutions to challenges facing the energy sector, Russia's President Vladimir Putin said Tuesday.
Putin, in a letter, said the event will bring together representatives of government bodies, major industries, business circles and the expert community from Russia and other countries to discuss key global energy developmental trends.
'Sustainable growth of the modern world economy greatly depends on ensuring energy security, and naturally Russia stands to play a special role as one of the guarantors of energy security for the entire Eurasia,' he said.
He added that participants at the event will have an opportunity to learn about prospects available in Russia's fuel and energy sector and the strategic projects that are being implemented. Participants will also be able to map out areas of cooperation, including energy efficiency, while cutting-edge technologies that meet the highest environmental standards are introduced.
quot;I hope that a substantial dialogue among the participants in the Russian Energy Week will be instrumental in working out common approaches to the development of the international energy agenda and in launching new mutually beneficial initiatives,quot; Putin stressed.
The Russian Energy Week Energy Efficiency and Energy Development Forum, of which Anadolu Agency is the media partner, will serve as a platform for discussion of the main challenges faced by the energy sector.
Putin, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, Iran's Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zangeneh, the Minister of People's Power for Oil and Mining of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Eulogio Del Pino, Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak and CEO of Sberbank Herman Gref, will attend the event.
Gazprom, Novatek, Lukoil and Rosneft's top officials will also join the forum.
Five forums were held from 2012 to 2016 and were attended by representatives of key manufacturing companies and industry-based state organizations.
The operator of the event is the Roscongress Foundation, which was founded in 2007 to develop Russia’s economic potential and strengthen the country’s image by organizing congresses and exhibitions with an economic and social focus.
