The president of the Small and Medium Industry Development Organization (KOSBEG), Recep Biçer, has said that Turkey and Pakistan have a big potential to conduct common industrial and commercial enterprises.
"KOSGEB can provide the knowledge, experience, technology and projects that the PSIC [Punjab Small Business Administration] can benefit from," Biçer said on Monday.
Biçer's remarks came during a meeting Ankara between KOSGEB and PSIC officials.
The Pakistani delegation is paying five-day visit to Turkey to gain information about possible common commercial and industrial opportunities that Pakistani and Turkish companies can undertake.
More than 100 Turkish companies, mostly in energy, finance, infrastructure, transportation, service and construction, operate in Pakistan.
Turkey's exports to Pakistan was over $288 million in 2016.
While Turkish firms from 26 sectors export to Pakistan, Turkey imported $210 million of textiles such as fiber, nylon, cotton, polyester and garments from Pakistan.
The trade volume between the countries is around $600 million.
By the end of 2014, Turkish construction firms had completed 45 projects, amounting to $2.7 billion.
