The 35 th International Istanbul Book Fair opens in the TÜYAP Fair Convention and Congress Center in the Büyükçekmece district of Istanbul on November 12 and lasts until November 20.
The fair is expecting the participation of 800 publishers and nongovernmental organizations and over 300 events including interviews, panel discussions, poetry recitals and children's activities, will coincide.
Hamdi Turşucu, director of the General Directorate of Libraries and Publications, said that Germany is this year's honorary guest, as Germany will be represented by 30 publishers, while 13 authors from the country will take part in events and discussions.
This year's honorary guest under the "Philosophy and the Human" theme is Turkish philosopher Prof. Dr. Ioanna Kuçuradi, the current president of the Philosophical Society of Turkey.
