Terrorists from several terror organizations have been captured across Turkey in the last 24 hours as the country has tightly focused its security efforts against all terrorist organizations, particularly Daesh, Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETÖ) and Revolutionary People's Liberation Party/Front (DHKPC) and others of critical importance.

One of the terrorists is Abdulgadir Masharipov, the perpetrator of the deadly attack on an Istanbul nightclub during new year's celebrations.

He was captured during a police operation on a residence in Istanbul's Esenyurt district on Monday after a review of 100,000 hours of CCTV records by Turkish police over the course of 16 days.

Terrorist Masharipov, who killed 39 people in the nightclub attack, is suspected to have entered Turkey in January 2016.

At least 39 people, including a police officer, were killed when an attacker opened fire on civilians at a nightclub in the Ortaköy district of Istanbul in the early hours of New Year's Day; 69 other people were also wounded, with a number of foreign nationals among the casualties.

Top DHKP-C terrorist captured in Izmir

Another significant success of the Turkish police in the last 24 hours was the capture of a DHKP-C terrorist, who is reported to be the so-called regional manager of DHKP-C in the western Turkish province of Izmir.

The DHKP-C suspect C.Ş. is known to have attempted to conduct an attack against police in Istanbul and had been kept in prison until 2016.

DHKP-C is considered a 'terrorist organization' by Turkey and the United States.

In 2016, two female terrorists who carried out an attack on a police station in Istanbul's Bayrampaşa district were identified as Çiğdem Yakşi and Berna Yılmaz, both members of the DHKP-C.

FETÖ-linked journalist captured

As a part of an operation against the journalist linked with Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETÖ) over the July 15 coup bid that targeted the democratically-elected Turkish government; Ünal Tarık, the executive editor of Rotahaber.com, was arrested.

Tarık had been sought by the Turkish police since the coup bid of July 15.

Turkey's government has repeatedly said the deadly plot, which martyred at least 246 people and injured more than 2,100 others, was organized by the terrorists of FETÖ, led by U.S. based Fetullah Gülen.

Gülen is the leader of a long-running campaign to overthrow the state through the infiltration of Turkish institutions, particularly the military, police and judiciary, forming what is commonly known as the "parallel state".
