Militants of the Kurdistan Worker's Party (PKK) terrorist organization staged an attack on Wednesday night targeting a public hospital and a government building in southeastern Turkey.

There were no casualties reported. The attack was conducted by detonating a bomb-laden vehicle at the center of the Şemdinli district, in the province of Hakkari.

The destruction caused by the explosion became visible early Thursday morning when officials started an investigation at the scene.

The state hospital, governorship office and police headquarters of the district were damaged as a result of the attack while dozens of houses, workplaces and cars were either fully or partially destroyed.

The three-floor district state hospital is reportedly out of service as the emergency room, baby delivery room, surgery compound and hemodialysis services were heavily damaged.

The terror group, which claims to defend Kurds' rights, also destroyed some apartments. Ten workplaces were rendered unusable in the fire that followed the explosion.

They have bombed bridges, burned machines used for dam constructions, attacked industrial areas, and destroyed many vehicles and trucks.

PKK attacks have been blamed for the cancellation of million-dollar projects in the underdeveloped southeastern region.
