The prosecutor orders detention of 54 more officers in the parallel state probe

Over 30 police officers were detained on suspicion of illegal wiretapping early Wednesday, February 25.

The last wave of police raids come after Ankara chief public prosecutor’s office ordered the detention of 54 more police officers in the ongoing ‘parallel state’ investigation.

Thirty-five out of 54 police officers have been detained after the anti-terror police at Ankara police department launched raids simultaneously across 20 provinces, including Bolu, Konya, Hakkari and Düzce.

The suspects have been taken to the police department for interrogation following a medical check-up at an Ankara hospital.
