Officers raided 28 properties in the southern province of Adana early Thursday. Police described it as an action against those who were wanted for purse-snatching, drug-trafficking and theft.

Police searched the properties and performed security checks on the persons found inside the hideout. Six people were detained on suspicion of being involved in several crimes.

Public order and riot squads were also involved in the operation, which was supported by two police helicopters.

Addresses in the districts of Yüreğir and Çamlıbel were among those raided.  Officers were deployed on the street corners and did not allow any driver or pedestrian to enter the area during the operation.

The police confiscated two roof cameras covering the area from different angles on one property that they stormed.

The action is the latest in a series of security operations, each of which at least 1,000 officers from the Adana police headquarters attended in one month.
