Outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) terrorists Monday injured six soldiers in a terror attack carried out by a remote-controlled bomb, in Turkey's eastern Mus province.

It was reported that an improvised remote-control roadside bomb struck an armored vehicle in eastern Mus province Monday.

The incident occurred in the province's Varto district.

The injured soldiers were taken to Mus State Hospital for treatment. After the attack, the Turkish army launched an operation in the province.

The PKK, which is considered a terrorist group by Turkey and much of the international community, including the United States and the European Union, has been involved in a separatist struggle with Turkey since the early 1980s.

Turkey blames the group for the deaths of thousands of people.

Since July, when the PKK called an end to a ceasefire with the Turkish government, more than 180 members of the security forces have been martyred and over 1,700 PKK terrorists killed in operations across Turkey and northern Iraq, including airstrikes.
