Strong winds hit flights, ferry services in Istanbul

A strong southwesterly wind, which started early Tuesday, badly affected transportation in İstanbul.

Due to the weather conditions, Istanbul Sea Buses (İDO) declared cancellation of all services.

Ferry services, which shuttle between the Asian and European sides of the city and to several nearby destinations such as Bandırma, Bursa and Armutlu, were disrupted.

Turkish Airlines also declared that it cancelled 37 flights due to the strong wind.

The company warned passengers to check for updated information about their flights before coming to the airport.
