Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım addressed the dinner given in his honor in Vietnam. Yıldırım said that Turkey, among other countries, closely follows Vietnam’s economic and social development in the recent years.

“I hereby would like to express my appreciation about the amelioration, depth and variety that the Turkey-Vietnam relations are gaining. The improvement of our political collaboration will reinforce the cooperation between the two countries, and contribute to the welfare of their people. We aim to boost our relations.

“Next year, we will celebrate the 40th anniversary of our diplomatic affairs. I propose the year 2018 be declared as the year of culture. I believe our visit to Vietnam will break new ground for the relations between the two countries. I would like to express my gratitude for your attentiveness and hospitality.

“Distinguished Prime Minister; we would be pleased if you became the first [Vietnamese] prime minister to visit Turkey.”
