Turkey to host Black Sea Economic Cooperation meeting

The 36th Meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) will be held on Thursday in Istanbul, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

The meeting will be chaired by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Ahmet Yıldız, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a written statement on Wednesday.

Ministers and delegations from BSEC members and BSEC related bodies will attend the meeting.

Matters regarding regional developments and methods and means to strengthen the Organization’s response to regional challenges will be discussed.

The meeting will conclude with a ceremony whereby Turkey will hand over the Chairmanship-in-Office of BSEC to Ukraine.

Turkey undertook the Chairmanship-in-Office of the BSEC during the first half of 2017.

During its Chairmanship, Turkey’s main theme was “Strengthening Partnership for Sustainable Development”.

Besides the 25th Anniversary Summit of BSEC, held on May 22 in Istanbul, Turkey also hosted the BSEC Ministers of Economy and the BSEC Ministers of Agriculture.
