Turkey is set to renew pressure on U.S. President Donald Trump as he settles into the White House's Presidential Oval Office to extradite Fetullah Gülen, head of the FETÖ terrorist organization, which orchestrated the failed coup attempt on July 15th last year.

Having previously sent the necessary documents that prove the U.S.-based Gülen's involvement in the failed coup to the Obama Administration in the aftermath of the bloody events of July 15, 2016, Turkey will send new additional information, documents and confirmed indictments to the U.S. Department of Justice.

Turkey's Justice Minister Bekir Bozdağ, who visited the United States to push for the extradition of Gülen in October last year, is expected to once again convey the sensitivity of the issue to the newly-appointed Secretary of Justice.

'A concrete step towards provisional arrest and extradition'

“Looking at the strong comments made by Mr. Trump and those assuming active roles in his administration, they point to the beginning of a new era in relations between Turkey and the United States. A new beginning in a positive sense has raised hopes of strengthened ties on both ends," Minister Bozdağ was recently quoted as saying in a television interview.

"There are less hopeful predictions as well, but I'm only looking at positive ones, in the period following Mr. Trump's assumption of his role as President, there can be concrete steps made on the subject of the provisional arrest and extradition of Fetullah Gülen to Turkey, " Bozdağ stated in the same interview. Turkey's Justice Minister concluded by saying, "From here on out, we expect clear stances from our interlocutors. It's a time of actions, not words. Yes means yes, no means no; we want them to state clearly what they're planning to do."
