Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has strongly condemned the terrorist attack of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in Cizre town, in the southeastern Şırnak province that martyred at least 11 policemen, saying Turkey will never allow the terrorists to target the peace of the country.
"Cizre is the town where the terrorist organization had been trying hard to break the peace. Despite all the efforts of the terrorists, Cizre residents look towards the state, not the terror groups; therefore the terrorist group tries to make its presence felt with attacks like these," Erdoğan said in a written statement.
"An attack like this, which occurred amid the intense fight of Turkey against the terrorist groups, increased Turkey's determination in its fight against terrorism. Turkey will never allow these terrorists to realize their dirty aims," Erdoğan said.
"We will be the winner of the fight against the terrorist groups that martyred people on July 15, kill our children in Gaziantep during the wedding ceremony or attack the convoy of the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu," Erdoğan said.
The Turkish President also expressed his condolences for those that were martyred in the terrorist attack.
Erdoğan's remarks against terrorism came after the attack that was conducted by the PKK which detonated a bomb-laden car at a police checkpoint in Cizre town, where at least 11 policemen were martyred and more than 78 people, including four in serious condition, were wounded.
Previously, Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım has expressed Turkey's determinism in the fight against terror groups launching attacks both within Turkey and in the neighboring Syria, saying, “No terrorist organization can take Turkey hostage."
Also, Turkey's Minister of Health Recep Akdağ has said that terror attacks are targeting the development move in Turkey.
