Turkish border units have embarked on a fresh strike against areas in the Syrian territory controlled by the Daesh terror network, while the country's incursion in the war-torn Syria entered its 31st day, according to reports.
The military's Fırtına (Storm) Howitzers have shelled villages of Kefergan, Tuğlu, Baragat and Savran under Daesh rule at present. All villages lie West of al-Bab town, which President Erdoğan has described as the next target in the Turkish-led incursion.
The plume of smoke rising above these Syrian border villages were clearly visible in the areas on the Turkish side of the border.
Friday's retaliatory strike comes a day after two rocket strikes, launched from the Daesh-held section in northern Syria, landed in Kilis province, injuring nine people.
After taking al-Rai town and several villages in its countryside from Daesh, moderate opposition fighters are now taking aim at another Daesh-held Syrian town, al-Bab, 30 kilometers south of Turkey's border.
Local groups have said FSA has responded heavily to crush Daesh positions in the countryside of al-Bab to have further access to its central sections.
Meanwhile, there has been reports of Turkish military aircrafts have conducted surveillance and reconnaisance flights along the Turkish-Syrian border.
