The Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) has said that 98 Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and Daesh terrorists were neutralized in counterterrorism operation in Turkey and in the ongoing Operation Euphrates Shield that is being conducted in northern Syria by Turkey and Free Syria Army (FSA) factions.
"Twenty-seven of them were neutralized in the operations in Diyarbakır, Bingöl, Siirt, Mardin, Bitlis, Batman and Kars provinces while the remaining were in the Syrian operation," the TAF said.
Some 3,060 Daesh and 462 fighters from the Democratic Union Party's (PYD) People's Protection Units (YPG) terrorists have been neutralized since the beginning of Euphrates Shield, according to the military.
In the same period, the Turkish military destroyed 2,325 terrorist targets.
Operation Euphrates Shield, led by Turkey in support of FSA forces with artillery and jets, was launched to eliminate the terror threat along the Turkish border and improve security.
The Turkish military says it is conducting the operation amid high security measures to avoid any civilian casualties.
