Turkish police capture two suicide bombers who were preparing an attack on Kizilay square in Ankara

Police launched an anti-terrorism operation on Wednesday in the Turkish capital of Ankara. During the operation, two suspected suicide bombers were captured.



The suicide bombers are linked with the Daesh terrorist organization, according to the Ankara Public Prosecutor's Office and security sources.



Several suicide bomb vests and bomb devices reinforced with steel balls and rods were seized during the operation.



The suspects, who were identified, were taken to the Ankara Police Directorate Anti-Terror Branch to be questioned.



An official said that, the two men, who entered Turkey from Syria, were thought to have been preparing an attack on Kizilay square in the center of Ankara, where crowds usually gather to celebrate the New Year.
