Turkish security forces killed eight PKK terrorists in Hakkari

A total of eight PKK militants were killed by Turkish security forces in eastern Turkey's Hakkari province

Following the fatal roadside bomb attack in Turkey's southeastern Siirt province on Wednesday that killed 8 soldiers, Turkish security forces intensified their operations against the PKK terrorists, killing at least eight terrorists in Hakkari's Şemdinli district.



Security forces have launched an operation against the terrorists, who closed the roads and dug ditches in the streets of many districts of Hakkari.



From time to time, clashes have been breaking out between the terrorists and security forces, the sound of weapons being heard in the city, PKK spread fear across provinces that many work places have been closed.



Meanwhile, eight Turkish soldiers were killed in a bomb attack in the southeastern province of Siirt on Wednesday, when a roadside land mine was detonated by the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) militants while the military convoy was passing by Siirt's Sirva district.



The PKK, which is considered a terrorist group by Turkey and much of the international community, including the United States and the European Union, has been involved in a separatist struggle with Turkey since the early 1980s.



Turkey blames the group for the deaths of thousands of people.
