A wanted suicide bomber, a member of Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) terrorist group, has been captured in the central Turkish province of Konya.

Konya police captured the bomber, code-named "Rojda," 25-year-old suicide bomber Necla Y. and four other terrorists in an operation launched on a tipoff.

Some of the suspects were found at the house, while Necla Y. was captured in Dokuz neighborhood of Selçuklu town as she was trying to escape.

Necla Y. was discovered to have entered Turkey two days ago with the intention ofconducting a suicide bomb attack after being trained in Kobane (Ayn al-Arab).

Previously on Monday, a PKK terrorist was caught preparing a bomb attack and a large quantity of explosives were seized in the southern Turkish province of Mersin.

Turkey is the target of various terrorist groups, particularly Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK)-affiliated groups and Daesh. Counterterrorism operations were intensified and security measures ramped up across the country.

Recently on April 28, a suicide bomber targeted the northwestern Turkish province of Bursa, detonating an explosive at the western gate of the Grand Mosque, a popular and central part of the city.

Several places in Ankara and Istanbul have been hit by suicide attacks since the beginning of 2016.
