The concreting phase of the giant 72-meter-high main dome has begun in the construction of Çamlıca Mosque, the largest mosque in the history of the Turkish republic. "When the construction is completed, as many as 50,000 people will be able to pray in the mosque, which will also be able to host up to 100,000 people in an emergency situation such as natural disaster," said Ergin Külünk, the president of the Remodeling and Sustenance Association of İstanbul Mosque, Education and Culture Service Units.
