Rebiya Kadeer, the President of the World Uygur Congress, strongly opposed Ihsanoglu's claim that the Turkish Government does not help Uygurs.

'There is no other state then Turkey to help Uygur Turks this much. If someone claims that 'Prime Minister Erdogan did not help Uygurs', I will strongly opposed him,' she said

Rebiya stressed that Prime Minister Erdogan is the only one leader who described the attacks in Uygur as genocide.

'Our flag was banned in Turkey earlier. This government lifted the ban. Now, everybody can carry and hang our flag in Turkey,' Rebiya added

Rebiya said that she will not comment about Turkey's presidential election, as it is an internal issue and continued, 'We will congratulate whoever wins in the presidential elections, but we would appreciate it if Mr. Erdogan will win the poll. We, the people of East Turkestan, have the same distance to all candidates running for Turkey's presidential election but our heart is with Erdogan, all Uygurs pray for him.'

Rebiya said that she feels uncomfortable about the opposition parties' candidate Ihsanoglu making the East Turkestan issue a matter of domestic policy. She said that she found Ihsanoglu's criticism of the Turkish government over the Uygur issue wrong.

"Nobody should make this issue a tool of domestic policy,' she added.

Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, the joint presidential candidate of Turkey's main opposition party, the Republican People Party, or CHP, and the Nationalist Movement Party, MHP, criticized the Turkish government for not supporting Uygur Turks.
