Turkey ranked first in number of stadium projects: UEFA

UEFA report shows Turkey tops list of stadiums built with 18; Turkish minister Kılıç says 3,4 billion dollars spent on 30 ongoing projects

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) report also showed that in the last decade 48 percent of the major global stadium projects have taken place in Europe, indicating that Turkey is the number one on the list with 18 stadiums completed.



Turkey is followed by Poland and Russia, both of which undertook 14 major new stadium projects since 2007



Turkey's Minister of Youth and Sports Akif Çağatay Kılıç said that Turkey spent 3,4 billion dollars for the 30 stadium projects that Turkey initiated in the last three years.



The list continues with Germany with 8 stadiums, England with 6 and France with 5.



The index also showed the top 20 most expensive stadiums of Europe.



The list includes seven English clubs, four from Germany, the three Spanish sides, two Portuguese and one club each from Denmark, France, Italy and Russia.



Arsenal FC's Emirates stadium, is the most expensive built to date, at a fixed asset cost of 689 million euros.
