A Turkish construction worker, Şeymus Kaya, built an elevator for his 15-year-old disabled daughter Melek so she could reach their second-floor flat. Stating that they moved to Turkey's eastern province of Siirt from Batman four months ago, “I thought on how she would reach the second floor. While I was working in construction, I remembered an elevator system which was used to carry load in a warehouse. So, I built this elevator," he said.
