Turkey first to send aid to quake victims in northern Iraq

An earthquake of 7.3 magnitude rocked the region on Sunday night, killing at least 530, with more than 8,000 injured in Iraq and Iran. Turkey dispatched aid, a 20-member search-and-rescue team and medical teams to northern Iraq to help earthquake victims. Turkey's aid efforts are being coordinated with the central government in Baghdad and the Iraqi Red Crescent. The Turkish aid agencies were the first to arrive in the quake-hit parts of northern Iraq.
