The U.S.-backed Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK) terrorist organization has taken full control of Syria’s Raqqa. The terrorists have started looting the city. In five months, 450,000 civilians fled Raqqa. Deir ez-Zor’s former Military President Colonel Muhammad Feyyaz spoke to Yeni Şafak, evaluating regional developments.

Oil fields under PKK control

“Thirteen Russian officers, including Lieutenant-General Valery Asapov, were killed by Daesh using coordinates provided by the U.S. The U.S., which prevented the advances of Russian and Syrian government forces, ensured that the PKK took control of five major oil fields,” said Feyyaz.

The PKK captured Syria’s largest oil field, al-Omar oil field, on Oct. 22. On Sept. 23, the PKK and its Syrian offshoot the Democratic Union Party (PYD) controlled Kuniko, Syria’s largest gas producer company, and captured the Jafra oil field earlier this month.

US, Russia trying to seize Syrian resources

Noting that there were 400 active oil fields in Deir ez-Zor, Feyyaz said: “This ratio corresponds to 45 percent of the country. Deir ez-Zor is Syria's richest oil region. The U.S. and Russia made an agreement, but the two sides are trying to increase their share using the forces they support on the field. Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor were turned into ruins because of this. Now they are trying to seize the oil and gas supplies.”

Great clashes loom

“Daesh occupied our regions. The public suffered a great tragedy. The PKK/PYD is now trying to turn this situation into an opportunity by re-arranging the region with the invading forces. The occupation of Deir ez-Zor, Raqqa, al-Hasakah and Aleppo have caused great outrage,” Feyyaz added.

PKK/PYD will lose like Barzani

“With the end of Daesh, a new wave of conflict will begin in Syria. There is a bloody feud between the U.S.-backed PKK/PYD and Arabs. Once Daesh is cleared out, 200,000 people will hold the PKK to account. The U.S. and the PKK hurt the pride of the Arabs. Tribes are preparing to mobilize all their forces and weapons to target the PKK once Daesh has been annihilated. There will be great clashes and the PKK/PYD will be forced to return to their former positions, just like Barzani,” Feyyaz said.
