The Syrian army is using Egyptian-made missiles against opposition fighters and civilians in the southwestern border city of Zabadani, activists claimed.

Some pictures of the fired missiles shared on several social media accounts, which activists claimed were used by regime forces in recent weeks, unveiled that the missiles were made in Egypt.

The “Sakr45" model missiles, copied from Russian missiles, are using by Egyptian military.

Relations between Syria's Assad and Egypt's coup leader Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi were being speculated for quite a while, as the latest missile pictures deepened the claims.

Heavy fighting in Zabadani between opposition fighters and the Hezbollah-backed Syrian military resumed last weekend, after the collapse of a three-day ceasefire deal that was brokered by Turkey and Iran.

The five-year-long civil war in Syria killed almost 215,834 people, including 180,455 civilians, according to a recent statement from the Syrian Human Rights Watch organization.
