Pakistani PM to visit Turkey for D-8 summit

Pakistani Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi is set to visit Turkey on Oct. 20 for the D-8 Summit which will be held in Istanbul

Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım will meet his Pakistani counterpart Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Friday.

The Media Center of the Office of the Prime Minister said in a written statement that Turkey will host the ninth summit of the Developing 8 (D-8) Organization for Economic Cooperation on Oct. 20 in Istanbul.

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Abbasi will hereby pay a working visit to Turkey.

Turkish premier Yıldırım will hold a one-on-one meeting and additional inter-delegation meetings with his Pakistani counterpart during his visit. The meetings will address regional and international issues, as well as bilateral relations.

The international D-8 summit, with the theme “Expanding Opportunities through Cooperation,” will be attended by many international leaders including the first Vice President of Iran Eshaq Jahangiri, Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev and Indonesia’s Vice President Jusuf Kalla.
