Almost a year and a half after the Euphrates Shield Operation eradicated Daesh terrorists from Jarabulus, peace has been restored to the northern Syrian city as residents continue to flock home to help the Turkish-backed effort to rebuild damaged infrastructure.

Thanks to the Euphrates Shield operation, peace has been restored to an area of approximately 2,000 square kilometers by Turkish-trained Free Syrian Army police and soldiers.

Since the Euphrates Shield Operation, the population of Jarabulus has swelled to 150,000 and the number of schools rose from 19 to 108, providing education to 20,000 students.

As Turkey oversees the process of rehabilitating the city’s infrastructure, work is also proceeding at full speed to build a hospital in Jarabulus.

Turkey initiated Operation Euphrates Shield on Aug. 24, 2016 which cleared a large area in Syria of terrorist organizations.
