A rampaging buffalo injured eight people in Myanmar’s commercial capital Yangon after it escaped from a slaughterhouse, police said Thursday.
The buffalo, with a rope tied around its neck and head, attacked pedestrians at a street in Yangon’s North Dagon township, police officer Tin Maung Myint said.
The victims, who suffered minor injuries, were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
They include six pedestrians, a motorcyclist and an official from the slaughterhouse, he said.
The buffalo, which escaped the slaughter house at 8 a.m. local time (0130GMT), was captured by police three hours later.
