At least five people were killed in a Russian warplane attack in Syria's northwestern province of Idlib on Friday.
According to local sources, the incident took place in Idlib's Maarat al-Numan district. It destroyed many houses in a residential area.
The wounded were rescued from the debris and rushed to nearby hospitals.
Russia began carrying out strikes in Syria on September 30 in support of its ally, President Bashar al-Assad.
President Vladimir Putin insists his forces are targeting Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) fighters. The US and its allies say many of the strikes have been on areas where ISIL has little or no presence, and often hit civilian targets rather than fighters. They said many civilians have been killed in Russian airstrikes in Syria.
Russia's incursion into an area controlled by Turkmen forces, near the Turkish border, further exemplifies their actions. Russian forces' campaign to gain control from the Turkmen Brigades over strategic Kızıldağ Hill has sent hundreds of civilians fleeing to refugee camps.
