A newly-trained Syrian police squad was sent back to Syria today upon completing training in the southern Turkish province of Kilis, according to reports.

The training program was led by Turkey in cooperation with the Syrian Interim Government.

The newly-trained force is slated to assume police duties in the northern Syrian city of Azaz, west of Aleppo, which was cleared from Daesh terrorists early last year after the terror group was driven out by Turkish-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA) forces.

After passing the selection process, the first batch of freshly trained police officers boarded buses bound for Azaz from Kilis.
