The United States Department of Defense has stated that top Daesh official Abu Saad al-Sudani and his wife were found to have been killed in a US airstrike on April 22.
Pentagon Spokesman Peter Cook said the airstrike was conducted on Daesh targets in northern Syria.
Cook said that Al-Sudani's Australian-born wife, Shadi Jabar Khalil Mohammad, was killed in the airstrike at the same time as her husband.
Al-Sudani, also known as Abu Issa al-Amriki, is known as a significant figure with a key role in recruitment to the terrorist organization.
Al-Sudani is said to have been planning attacks in the US, the United Kingdom and Canada.
