Turkey and Russia conducted airstrikes in their second joint operation in northern Syria, destroying 22 Daesh targets on Saturday.

The airstrikes were carried out by two Turkish F-16 and two F-4, and two Russian Su-24Ms and a Su-34 bomber, according to a statement released by the Russian Defense Ministry on Monday.

Turkey and Russia recently joined forces and signed an agreement to allow Russian jets to also strike Daesh targets in the al-Bab region.

The Turkish-led Euphrates Shield Operation, aided by the Free Syrian Army (FSA), was launched in late August to improve security, support coalition forces, and eliminate the terror threat along Turkey's border.

Tuesday marks the 154th day of the operation, backed by Turkish artillery and jets. The Euphrates Shield Operation cleared an area of 1,100 square kilometers within its first 50 days, and has since secured additional areas, bringing the amount of the total area to 2,000 square kilometers.
