One Turkish soldier was killed and two others wounded on Tuesday. They were part of a special team deployed by the Turkish Armed Forces that was sweeping mines planted by the Daesh terrorist organization in al-Bab, Syria.



On the same day, 44 Daesh terrorists were neutralized in northern Syria as part of the ongoing Operation Euphrates Shield, according to the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF).



The military said 229 residential areas and 1,910 square kilometers of land had been secured in the operation so far.



Operation Euphrates Shield, led by Turkey in support of FSA forces with artillery and jets, was launched to eliminate the terror threat along the Turkish border and improve security.



The Turkish military said that it is conducting the operation amid high security measures to avoid any civilian casualties.
