At least 41 soldiers were killed after two suicide car bombings struck Afghanistan's southern Kandahar province on Thursday, according to reports.

The Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attacks.

The suicide attacks were carried out using two Humvees, armored vehicles, stolen from security forces, over an army base in Cheshma area of Maiwand district.

On Oct. 17, at least 20 people were killed and several injured after suicide attackers and gunmen stormed a police training center in southeastern Afghanistan.
