Two Turkish soldiers were martyred and three wounded by an improvised explosive device (IED) that detonated during a sweeping operation on Friday in al-Bab, Syria.
The bomb detonated in the lower region of Tadif to the south of al-Bab at approximately 12:00 p.m.
Tactical operations carried out by the Turkish military and the Free Syrian Army (FSA) are underway to clear al-Bab of mines, bombs and booby traps rigged around al-Bab.
The strategically important town is currently under the control of Turkey-backed FSA as part of the ongoing Euphrates Shield Operation.
The Turkish mlitary and the FSA has also driven Daesh from the smaller neighboring towns of Qabasin and al-Bezah.
Since the operation's launch, close to 4,000 handmade explosives and 57 mines have been neutralized under controlled conditions.
The operation was launched in late August to improve security, support coalition forces and eliminate the threat of terror along the Turkish-Syrian border.
