A prominent Syrian lawyer has accused the U.S. of destroying his native city of Raqqa, under the pretext of saving it from Daesh, as the civilian death toll, from the U.S.-led coalition’s aerial bombardment, continues to rise.

Akram Dede, a Syrian lawyer from Raqqa, who spoke to Yeni Şafak, said that American fighter jets have massacred civilians as they rained bombs on those trapped inside Raqqa. Dede also accused the U.S. of handing control over of lands, seized in Raqqa, to PKK/YPG terrorists.

“U.S. fighter jets have flattened Raqqa since the start of the operation. Their planes landed to escort Daesh leaders, “said Dede.

‘They’re no different from Nazi camps’

“They’re appointing killers to rule the province of Raqqa. Over 2,000 people were killed since the start of the operation, “said Dede as he addressed the demographic changes carried out in Tal Abyad. “They’re saying they opened concentration camps for civilians, they’re no different from Nazi camps. YPG terrorists seize people’s ID’s, and in order to release those detained, they demand to be paid 1,000 USD in return, “ Dede concluded.
