Germany has moved its alliance with the Fetullah Terror Organization (FETÖ) to Africa by providing cover to the terror group’s schools in Ethiopia.

The move comes after Berlin had provided asylum and protection to thousands of FETÖ fugitives, responsible for the July 15 coup attempt in Turkey, becoming its chief backer abroad.

Some schools were handed over to Turkey

Numerous Western countries, Germany primarily among them, started again to turn a blind eye to the FETÖ terror group after the effective diplomacy carried out by the Maarif Foundation that resulted in the closure of FETÖ’s schools in Africa one after the other.

One of these countries was Ethiopia where, starting 2017, Turkey was able to partially reach its goals after two years of intense work. In July of this year, the Maarif Foundation took over the “Rainbow Association” in the city of Harar which oversaw the operation of a campus that provided education to students starting in primary school all the way to high school.

‘Germans are in charge’

However, the FETÖ terror group managed to salvage six schools using trickery by striking partnerships with German citizens of Ethiopian origin. Others were turned over to so-called “German investors,” however this sham process remained on paper only.

FETÖ activities in these schools are ongoing to this day, in addition to other structures that were transferred to Ethiopia through illegal means after the terror group’s schools were shut down in Pakistan and across the globe.

A new school was inaugurated

Germans have also deepened their cooperation with FETÖ terrorists this year. “Intellectual Schools” that were turned over to Germans “on paper” opened a new campus in the Ferensay district of the capital Addis Ababa.

Boasting a capacity of 1,200 students, the campus was officially inaugurated on Nov. 13 with the participation of Germany-based fugitive FETÖ leader Ercan Karakoyun and other members of the terror group in Ethiopia, in addition to Germans whose identities were not disclosed but are said to be closely-linked to the country’s embassy in Berlin.

A German smokescreen

Intimate photos from the event which showed terror group members sporting German flags pinned to their lapels raised eyebrows.

Hundreds of students have already enrolled at the school this year, becoming the terror group’s biggest educational structure in the country.

In order to escape diplomatic pressure exerted by Turkey, FETÖ conducts all operations in Ethiopia through German proxies.

After the defeated coup, Turkey established the Maarif Foundation to assume the administration of overseas schools linked to FETÖ. It also establishes schools and education centers abroad.

FETÖ and its U.S.-based ringleader Fetullah Gulen orchestrated the coup attempt which left 251 people martyred and nearly 2,200 injured.

It is behind a long-running campaign to overthrow the state through the infiltration of Turkish institutions, particularly the military, police, and judiciary.

FETÖ has a considerable presence abroad, including private schools which serve as a revenue stream for the terror group.
