Legendary French football player Pascal Nouma expressed his support to the Turkish Police by posting a photograph of himself with officers of the law as the U.S. burns with protests against racism.

Nouma, a former player of Turkish football club Beşiktaş, now playing for Paris St Germain, wrote: “I love Turkish Police. #Mypolice” in a Twitter post, drawing great interest on social media.

The 48-year-old football superstar, who considers Turkey his “home,” drew a sharp contrast to the United States where a black man, George Floyd, was killed by a white police officer who knelt on his neck, suffocating him to death.

Floyd, 46, died in hospital after the officer in question knelt on his neck for nearly nine minutes in Minneapolis, Minnesota. His last words "I can't breathe" became the slogan of worldwide protests.
