Khimki Moscow defeated Fenerbahçe in basketball overtime on Tuesday evening, halting the Turkish Airlines Euroleague leaders' 12-game winning streak.

The Russian side earned a hard-fought victory behind well-balanced scoring from its players, reaching an 84-78 win at Arena Mytishchi in Moscow.

Fenerbahçe's Nicolo Melli had a chance to steal the victory with two free-throws at the last second, but he missed the first one to force the overtime at the 72-72 score.

For Khimki, Stefan Markovic scored 13, Tony Croker added 10, and Anthony Gill and Dee Bost chipped in with 12 points apiece.

For Fenerbahçe, Melih Mahmutoglu's hot shooting with 18 points and Jan Vesely's 17-point performance were unable to turn the tide.

Fenerbahçe dropped to 15 wins and 2 losses after the match, while Khimki Moscow improved to 7 wins and 10 losses.
